How To Increase Virtual/Implicit Memory Or Storage On Your Acer Laptop

Virtual memory is an imaginary storage supported by some operating systems in conjunction with hardware and software to facilitate copying virtual storage into real storage, the operating system divides virtual memory into pages, each of which contains a fixed number of addresses. The primary benefits of virtual memory includes freeing applications from managing a shared memory space, increased security due to memory isolation, and being able to use more memory than might be physically available.

Let’s now understand how to increase implicit storage:
  • Go to Start menu
  • Click on settings
  • Choose Adjust the appearance and performance of windows
  • In a new window, go to Advance tab
  • Select Virtual memory.
  • Click on Change
  • At the bottom of the new window  check what the recommended value is  and how to compare it with the currently allotted one
  • If the current setting is significantly less than the recommended one, uncheck the Automatically manage paging file size for all devices box at the top of the same window and then click on Custom size.
  • Enter the recommended value and the larger figure in the Maximum size box
  • Click on Save to save the changes.
These are the steps which you can follow to increase the implicit memory of your Acer laptop. I hope this blog was helpful enough to guide you the steps.
