How To Disable The Touch Screen On An Acer Laptop?

We are all familiar with touchscreen tablets, but some laptops also have touch screens. We think they're pretty useful but if you use your Acer laptop with the standard keyboard mouse combination, then you can disable the touch screen very easily.

Maybe you want to show someone that how you can do something on your laptop and you accidentally touch the screen and did something unintentionally. Or maybe you do not use the touchscreen. It would be helpful if you could even temporarily disable the touchscreen. There is no built-in way to disable the touchscreen but you can easily do this with Device Manager but Acer does not recommend disabling the driver.

Use the steps given below to disable the touchscreen driver on your Acer laptop:
  1.  Press the windows +x to open your power user menu.
  2. Then select device manager.
  3.  In the Device Manager, click on the right arrow to the left of Human Interface Devices to expand the list.
  4. Look for the driver's HID-compatible touch screen in the list. If this driver does not appear and is listed as a "USB Input Device", try disabling one at a time and reactivating it until the touchscreen stops responding.
  5.  Right-click the driver and select Disable. A warning appears telling that disabling this device will cause it to stop functioning. 
  6. Click Yes. Restart the computer when prompted.

 Now, when you touch your screen, nothing will happen besides adding more finger smudges to the screen.
